A Curtain

For my final project, I wanted to make a curtain that’s different from the one we’ve seen in ordinary houses. But I still haven’t decided yet, which means I might change to other projects in the future. The curtain I will make is not a regular curtain, it’s a curtain that’s responsive to our physical force in an unconventional way. But before I move on, it’s better to know the idea behind it, if you want to understand its true meaning. I have stated its idea in week1. Then, here(week2) are some simple sketches and simulation of this curtain. It will give you an idea of how it looks and some of its functions that I want to input.

Difficulties:

1. The size of the curtain. How can I make it suitable to windows with different width. Or, if other people want to use this project, can they adjust the size to suit their windows easily?

For this week, we test our board with Arduino. This gives me a hope and an idea of how I will realize my curtain, even though this is still a thought comes out of my head. I’m thinking if I can implant a PCB board into my curtain, and separate it according to distance, I can somehow control and measure its position. And if I can measure the speed of the movement of my curtain in a certain distance, then I might be able to let it to do something else.
